Intratone is a new system that uses our customers phone numbers rather than a handset in the flat. When someone calls their flat their phones will ring and they simply answer the call and if they want to let that person in, they press the start key on their keypad. The door will then open.
There is also a camera built into the new door entry panels, so anybody with a smart phone whose number is registered on the system, can download the app and see who is at the door as well as talk to them.
Part of the project also included the installation of interactive noticeboards. These are fitted in the entrance lobbies of the schemes and enable us to post messages on them remotely, for example to advise customers that the heating is being serviced today and will be off for a period off time, or that we are aware that the lift is out of order and an engineer is on his way.
