Rent Payments – How do I calculate a charge?

There are 4 rent paid frequencies that a customer can pay in line with.

Weekly
This would be the customer pays the weekly amount each week.

Fortnightly
The customer is paying every two weeks, so would need to pay double the weekly charge.

4 Weekly
The customer would pay on the same day every 4 weeks. So 4 times the amount of their weekly charge

Calendar monthly
If a customer pays on the same date each month this is known as a calendar monthly charge. It differs from 4 weekly as it is worked out of the over year, as some months have more than 4 weeks.

There are 50 chargeable weeks in the year as 2 are rent free.
To calculate a calendar monthly charge,  take the weekly amount and multiple it by 50, Then divide the amount by 12, as there as these are the calendar months.

Remember to set the rent paid frequency on the rent account in YODA so we know how often the customer is paying.
