How to re-pressurise a boiler

If a customer reports no hot water, it could be due to low boiler pressure. If the boiler display shows a flashing pressure between 0.1 and 0.4 bars, that means the pressure is too low. Follow these steps to assist them:

  1. Ensure no taps are running and switch off your central heating.
  2. Underneath the boiler, you’ll find two grey taps.
  3. Open the left tap fully. This lets cold water enter the system.
  4. Slowly open the right tap, you’ll hear the boiler refill with water
  5. Watch the pressure gauge. As the water enters, the pressure reading will increase.
  6. Stop at 1.0 bar, close both taps.
  7. Restart your boiler, you can now turn on the heating and hot water again
