Fly tipping

Will do (routine)

  • Investigate instances – reported or proactively noted (on our land or within our buildings)
  • Collect and pass evidence to colleagues
  • Asses the value of an item – we cannot remove personal possessions that have value.

Can do

  • Collect & pass evidence to TCBC for action / enforcement

May do:

This does not include everything called “fly tipping” by the public. Unwanted items and other material rejected by the TCBC Waste Crews is not fly tipping.

NB most bin-collection points sit on the adopted highway. All reports about this need to be passed to TCBC for investigation apart from material inside our buildings, particularly bin stores or bin enclosures.

Fly tipping does not include bins and other containers associated with the waste and recycling collection services managed and controlled (by law) by TCBC e.g., green bins full of other waste remain the property of TCBC, this means they will need to manage issues like that.

For more info on TCBC services around bins and recycling see here: Bins and Recycling | Torfaen County Borough Council
