Examples of Prohibited work

If a contract holder asks about what types of work are not allowed, here are some examples of prohibited alterations:

  1. Satellite Dish Installation:

    • Fixing a satellite dish to a high-rise block or sheltered housing complex.
  2. Loft Conversions:

    • Any conversions of loft space are prohibited.
  3. Roof Modifications:

    • Fitting dormer windows into a roof is not allowed.
  4. Garage Alterations:

    • Converting or altering garages is prohibited.
  5. Communal Area Decoration:

    • Decorating communal areas in flats or complexes is not permitted.
  6. Pigeon Lofts and Aviaries:

    • Erecting pigeon lofts, aviaries, or similar structures is not allowed.

Application Process for Work Requiring Permission

For any work that does require permission, please ensure the application is passed to the Asset Team. An Asset Surveyor will complete the relevant checks to determine if permission can be granted.

  • Home Visit: Please advise the contract holder that a home visit may be required as part of this process.
