Occupation Contract Fraud – general advice

Contract fraud refers to a situation whereby one of our properties is obtained by deception. For example, this could be by providing false information at the application stage or by false information being provided that results in a change in a contract i.e. succession and Benefit Fraud.   

We will:- 

  •  Investigate all reports of contract fraud and unlawful subletting efficiently and effectively. 

 We may:- 

  •  Take action against the contract holder if they are not using the home, as their main home. 
  • Take action against anyone using false statements to obtain a contract 
  • Use social networking sites, neighbours and other partners to source any information on potential unlawful sub-letting or contract fraud. 
  • Use credit reference agency checks as part of our investigation. 
  • Share information with local partners, such as the Council, Police and support providers.  
  • Take action to reclaim possession of the property
