Block cleaning service overview – the service is a basic cleaning service. Deterioration of corridors etc., the marking of painted surfaces (often mat paint which stains easily) are not “cleanable”.
- The team provide a basic calendar-monthly block cleaning service. Common parts of blocks and retirement schemes will be inspected (cleaning standards) and cleaned at least once per month. Average visit ranges from 10 – 30 minutes.
- The service involves sweeping and cleaning by cloth or mop to give some idea of the ability to tackle difficult stains etc.
- This is chargeable to leaseholders and some tenants. It is important to note that although it shows as a line in the annual rent increase letters this is not an additional charge (same as the grounds maintenance charge) it is simply a separate figure that would have normally get rolled together into the total rent and not shown. Finance colleagues can explain it better if needs be.
- The monthly cleaning service does not incorporate ground-in permanent marks, cigarette burns and the like. Paint surfaces and general wear and tear can contribute to a “shabby” appearance as this is not an issue that can be resolved by cleaning.
