Court Warning Letter – this follows an ‘NSP’ and is a warning to the tenant that court action is being considered.
Generally, if a CWL is issued, the following will apply:
- Someone owes over £2k and has an agreement in place, but they have missed. in this case, they would need to replace the missed payment in 28 days or the account would be passed to court.
- If someone owes over £2k doesn’t have an agreement and not paid for 2-3 months. If they engage after receiving a court warning letter, they would after to pay 50% to stop court action
