When a contract holder asks about how to add a joint contract holder, staff should follow these steps when advising them:
-
How to Apply:
- Let the contract holder know they can request to add a joint contract holder either in writing or over the phone.
- Once they’ve made the request, Bron Afon will begin the process of reviewing their application.
-
What Happens Next:
- After their request is received, a Community Housing Officer (CHO) will contact them within 14 days if any additional information is needed or if a home visit is required.
- They will also receive a confirmation letter acknowledging their request and outlining any further information that may be required.
-
Decision Timeframe:
- Once the necessary information is gathered (or if no additional information is required), Bron Afon has 1 month from the date of the request to provide a written decision.
- If approved, the contract holder and the joint contract holder will be asked to sign a form (RHW10JCH) to complete the process.
-
What to Expect:
- Advise the contract holder that the process typically involves reviewing their circumstances, and it’s important to provide any requested information as quickly as possible to avoid delays.
- Let them know that if they have any questions or need updates on their request, they can contact their Community Housing Officer directly.
