Dear «MAILNAME»
Notice of changes to your rent and other charges 2024/25
«ADDRESS1», «ADDRESS2»
In line with guidance from Welsh Government, we review our rental charges every year. A formal notice is attached in the format required by law.
Detailed below are your current and new charges for rent and where applicable scooter storage and contents insurance.
A further letter will be sent out towards the end of February providing you with the new charges for gas and electricity if applicable and any other charges you are responsible for under the terms of your occupation contract. This letter will also include your new total weekly charge.
The new rent is payable from 1st April 2024. Your weekly rent charge will be: £«BASIC_R»
You will find a lot of important information in the attached document, designed to help you understand your rent letter and to provide you with details of support available for you. Please take a moment to read this.

If you claim Universal Credit:
You will need to notify the Department for Work and Pensions (‘the DWP’) once you receive your new total charge. You will need to do this on 1st April using your online universal credit account or at the Job Centre.
If you claim Housing Benefit:
You don’t need to do anything. We will send your new total rent charge to the Council’s Housing Benefit team and they will automatically adjust any benefit paid to us
If you pay by Direct Debit:
We will amend your direct debit from April to take account of the new charges. We will contact you at least five working days before your new Direct Debit is due to be collected to confirm the new amount.
If you pay by Standing Order:
You will need to amend your payments with your bank to take account of the new charges.
What if I already have an agreement in place to repay a debt to Bron Afon?
You will need to increase your payments so that you are paying your new rent and service charge plus the amount agreed and shown in your arrangement letter. If you pay by Direct Debit then we will amend this for you.
If you have any queries or wish to discuss this letter, please contact our Customer Services Team on 01633 620 111 or at enquiries@bronafon.org.uk and we will put you in touch with the relevant person to deal with your enquiry.
Yours sincerely,
Alan Brunt

Guidance notes for contract-holders
This notice informs you that a new rent is payable from the date listed in Part E. If you need advice about any aspect of this notice or are worried that you may not be able to pay your rent, you should first contact your landlord. Many problems can be resolved quickly by raising them when they first arise. You should also notify your Housing Benefit office in your local authority if you are claiming a benefit, or the Department for Work and Pensions if you are claiming Universal Credit. |
