Who handles grass cutting complaints?

As Torfaen Council are contracted to cut parts of our grassed areas, this should help you understand who to report concerns too:

Independent Living schemes. MCC are contracted to us to cut inside Independent Living schemes. Please pass issues related to these locations direct to the estate management team.

Defensible spaces. We cut the *enclosed* areas around flats so also pass issues related to these locations to the estate management team.

Cut and collect sites are managed for nature. They will not always look neat. The “cut and collect” treatment which means they will be left to grow thorough the season, you can check sites on Planweb.

‘General amenity grass’. TCBC cut this on our behalf and deal with all complaints:

How you can help:

Any uncut grass that should be cut (i.e. not being set aside for cut and collect – see
above): report the issue by one email to (1) TCBC using this address streetscene@torfaen.gov.uk and (2) Cc to the following for monitoring – Louise.Powell@torfaen.gov.uk, Ryan.Pattimore@torfaen.gov.uk and Estate.Management@bronafon.org.uk

Issue with damage (1) to our property and (2) where we have a repair responsibility e.g., smashed window: report to repairs colleagues who will apply the agreed & long standing approach below. For any other damage or concerns: these should be reported to the (1) contractor at TCBC via streetscene@torfaen.gov.uk and (2) Cc to the following for monitoring –
Louise.Powell@torfaen.gov.uk, Ryan.Pattimore@torfaen.gov.uk and Estate.Management@bronafon.org.uk

“Mess” – the contract requires sites (adjacent roads and paths) to be left tidy. As a ‘rule of thumb’ it is best to check if the crews are on site or if the grass was just cut. This is because the ‘back-up crew’ may not have done the back-up work to clear up
which happens the same day as operations. If the mess (trimmings in the road or path) problem is a day or more old you should report that to TCBC as follows (1) report to streetscene@torfaen.gov.uk and (2) Cc to the following for monitoring –
Louise.Powell@torfaen.gov.uk, Ryan.Pattimore@torfaen.gov.uk and Estate.Management@bronafon.org.uk. More info from TCBC: Grass Cutting | Torfaen County Borough Council
