How Do People Rent From BA?

When a contract holder inquires about renting a home with Bron Afon, staff should provide the following guidance:

1. Register with Torfaen Council:

   • Explain to the contract holder that in order to be considered for a Bron Afon property, they must first register with Homeseekr. 

2. Two Ways to Rent a Home with Bron Afon:

   Option 1: Social Housing

   • Advise them to sign up with Homeseeker. (www.torfaenhomeseeker.org.uk)
   • Once their application is processed, they can begin bidding on homes through the Homeseeker system.
   • Let them know that homes are advertised weekly, with the bidding window opening at midnight on Wednesday and closing at 11:59 PM on the following Tuesday.

   Option 2: Intermediate Renting (Help 2 Own)

   • Advise them to sign up for the Help 2 Own Scheme.
   • Once their application is processed, it will be added to the Help 2 Own list for consideration.
